Accounting Specialist Asia

Job Description:

  • Translate accounting related assignments into specific and detail action plans to be executed with the local finance and accounting department.
  • Align with key stakeholders in order to arrive at a realistic and achievable planning.
  • Communicate the final plan and progress during execution in a timely and clear manner.
  • Understand key financial processes and setups in business units and in relation to the IT infrastructure.
  • Identify best practices and customize these to fit local requirements.
  • Work with local team to implement revised and improved accounting practices within the allotted time span.
  • Effectively manage the project accounting team to enable smooth operations and efficient use of human resources.
  • Provide internal or external training to the team based on individual requirements.
  • Conduct the customary performance reviews in accordance with De Heus policies.
  • Perform other management related activities such as approval of leave, organizing and leading team meetings, organizing team retreats, etc.
  • Report progress on accounting assignment in a concise, clear and timely manner to senior management.
  • Support data, IT and controlling team with automation efforts if and when required.
  • When assessing and improving accounting processes and executing assignments consider and propose automation improvements.
  • Raise issues in a timely manner and discuss them with senior management.
  • Cooperate and communicate with subordinates and other key stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Clearly manage expectations and avoid communication gaps.
  • Work intensively with local finance and accounting teams to improve reporting and accounting abilities on short term.
  • Align with local BU management and regional senior management on the action plan, execution, difficulties and progress of execution.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree
  • Possess a relevant degree in accountancy.
  • Over 8 years of experience in related positions. Preferably in a manufacturing company with a multinational presence.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Strong and deep knowledge about accounting.
  • Excellent with office and other (accounting) software.
  • Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with other staff.
  • Ability to function and flourish in a highly dynamic environment
  • Ability and willingness to frequently travel within Asia.
  • Fluent in English
